Hyper- and hypo-fantasia. Too imaginative or not enough. Such a tempting oversimplification. Makes me want to write a series of sci-fi stories.

The idea that we're all on this spectrum. Too far on the one end you're diagnosed schizophrenic, too far on the other you're a Republican cop.

What I do know is our working models for mental health in this civilization have failed us, and like forced lobotomies and female circumcisions this era of so-called treatment with pharmaceuticals will be another horror of history some day.

For one thing labeling everything an illness is a pretty fucked way to go about it. And to have what passes for diagnosis be whether the patient reacts positively to psychotropic medication is embarrassing, potentially criminal, and should result in the loss of licenses for most psychiatrists.

Yeah I think that but my conditions say I'm allowed to think stuff like that.
